Ideas for the Back of Your Post Cards

Purpose

Set your goals (introducing a new product, attracting new customers, a special sale, having people call, etc.) and focus your copy on those goals specifically. Keeping your purpose in the front of your mind will help you decide just what to say and what to highlight.

Short Messages

Write simple, direct copy... What, where, when are the first questions to answer when writing. Copy enhances images... you can never replace a picture with words. Don't even try.

Headline

If the first few words don't grab your potential customer's attention, the rest of your copy will go unread. Put yourself in the reader's place. What one short statement would keep you reading?

Highlight Main Points

Set off your main points with bullets, bold type, italics or other visual devices. Boxes, tints, and offset formats are other methods for drawing attention to the most important points in your copy.

Request Action

Call today! Write today! Order now! Don't assurme your prospect knows how they should respond. Tell them when and how to respond. Urge immediate action!

How to Reach You

Give all the details your customer needs to reach you... address, phone, fax, e-mail, 800 number... whatever methods you have available. The more options a customer has, the more likely they will respond. But, if you have a preferred method of response, make sure that it appears in oversize or bold type.

Measure Your Results

Try a color PostCard coupon promotion. Other promoters have used coupons for everything from percentage discounts to a free cup of coffee. There is no simpler way to measure results.
